It takes several weeks for antibodies to form. You could always have the tick tested at your agricultural station or sometimes town halls will send them in. Youy could always go see your doctor but their responses will be quite varied. Some may give you 0ne pill of doxycycline as prevention but it is doubtful that this would be enough if you were infected. I had a personal experience where a whole month worth of doxy was not enough. The most important thing to do is to familiarize yourself with the long list of lyme symptoms....right hand column of this blog under articles...so if in the future you notice several of these symptoms...you will definitely want to be checked out by a lyme literate doctor. The other important thing is to keep up your immune system by eating the right foods and minimizing stress. This last action helps prevent any disease.Feel free to eamil me with any other questions daystar1952@yahoo.comLyme sentinelnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5876257241074222326.post-19792019722639781552012-06-21T07:42:47.186-07:002012-06-21T07:42:47.186-07:00Hi there!

One was large (maybe a dog tick) and one was small (a deer tick). We pulled them both out with sanitized tweezers, and have them in a jar in rubbing alcohol. We rubbed hydrogen peroxide on the bite areas. We did not notice any blood on his bite areas.

My question is the following:
What should we do at this point, to be proactive and make sure he does not develop Lyme disease? Should we contact a doctor and have tests taken? Should we ask for him to be treated, preemptively?

Thank you!Randahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05915372973652904613noreply@blogger.com
