DOES GLOBAL WARMING REALLY PLAY A ROLE IN SPREAD OF LYME DISEASE?

The following post is referring to the article at this link, which talks about our emerging and spreading diseases being due to global warming. http://www.nydailynews.com/lifestyle/health/2010/01/06/2010-01-06_scientists_predict_rise_in_illnesses_passed_from_animals_to_humans_like_swine_fl.html

The article at the link above, is one of many that are being published trying to brainwash us with the idea that global warming and urban sprawl (closer contact with deer and other animals) are the factors which are promoting our emerging infectious illnesses.

Humans have always been in close contact with animals. People have always lived in the woods. When I was growing up in CT there were deer in our area but there were no deer ticks that anyone can remember. I have discussed this with many different people who live in this area and the only ticks they remember from the 50s and the 60s ...were dog ticks.....NO small ticks. So, it appears that the deer ticks came from outside our environment in CT, not from within.... not because people are living closer to deer.

Global warming (still under hot debate) is being used as an excuse for everything under the sun and like the theory of evolution, this theory has become politically incorrect to question. There was a recent study which said that warmer climatic variations(in winter) do not necessarily mean an increase in ticks. It was stated that ticks need a cold resting temperature as part of their life cycle. Why is Lyme disease also spreading to warmer and drier areas of the globe...as well as to colder damper areas? Why aren't more studies being conducted concerning methods of transmission between people(casual and sexual), aerosol, blood supply, maternal transmission...etc? What about the very real possibility that ticks have acclimated to different environments due to either natural causes or genetic manipulation. And if Lyme disease can be transmitted by other means than insects...then you may not even need ticks for this disease to spread..Why is the media only mentioning global warming and people living more in wooded areas? Again...people have always lived in wooded areas.

There may be actual fluctuations in the climate. It is still under debate. However, man has the scientific technology to intentionally affect the weather, so does this play any role in the seeming increase in erratic and destructive weather? The point I am trying to make is that when only one explanation for something is given in the media and the other causes and possibilities are ignored...there are usually politcal and economic reasons for it.

From my point of view and from the point of view of a growing number of citizens, the global warming theory is being used as a political tool to create fear
and acquiescence to global environmental taxes and laws, which will eventually lead to the loss of national sovereignty and world government. This is not a conspiracy theory but the stated goals of certain politicians, George Herbert Walker Bush, Gorbachev, Strobe Talbot, Robert Muller, Maurice Strong....and the list goes on. The following are a couple of quotes from a website concerned about the same issues.

"We all want to be wise and careful stewards of the beautiful planet we call home. However, many aspects of the modern green movement that is permeating every segment of our society are not about saving the environment. You don’t have to dig very deep to discover the true beliefs and agenda of the influential leaders who are attempting to impose their vision of a New Green Order on the world.
Please carefully consider the implications of the opinions that they so openly and freely express:"

“In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill …All these dangers are caused by human intervention and it is only through changed attitudes and behaviour that they can be overcome. The real enemy, then, is humanity itself.”
– Club of Rome,The First Global Revolution, consultants to the UN.

“…we need to get some broad based support, to capture the public’s imagination…. So we have to offer up scary scenarios, make simplified, dramatic statements and make little mention of any doubts…. Each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective and being honest.“- Stephen Schneider,Stanford Professor of Climatology
lead Author of many IPCC reports

See the following link for more quotes of this nature. It is my belief that in order to progress in our understanding of the emerging and spreading diseases, we need to know more about them.....and not just the biology of it but how it may all relate to certain global goals
