June 22, 2010, 12:57 pm

Senate Bill 1199, sponsored by Senator Stewart Greenleaf, was discussed in committee today. Testimony was given by individuals personally affected by the disease, members from the medical and insurance field, as well as representative of Department of Health. Dr. Daniel Cameron, a medical professional, said that while the CDC reported an average of 8,000 cases of lymes disease in 2009, he estimated the actual number being closer to 80,000. For the full details, check out the capitol toolbox later this afternoon.
